We drove alll the way to san fransisco. that is a lot miles! About 12 hours of miles.
we saw windmils, cows, fields, pretty hills, and cloudy hills.
Monday I made my way down to the San Fransisco Museum of Modern Arts (sfmoma).
I spent a long time looking through some of these journals. At the end of the hallway of journals, there was a wall of journals for us, everyone, to write/draw/scribble in. I spent some time here too, the page I wrote on can be seen in the lower left picture.
Salvador Dali on the left, and on the right Diego Rivera ..Ive always wondered what his worked looked like.. I should research more of Diego's work.
I forgot to record the name of the Artist who did this below. It was a circle of i think 100 black poodles surrounding this one baby laying on a star in the center. I wonder if this is a part of their permanent collection? If it is not.. then what is going to be done with 100 poodles!?
bottom left is Robert Gober. an untitled piece made of beeswax, pigmet, and human hair.
bottom right is Paul Klee. I liked his work.
this is by Desiree Holman. Mostly I saw people wearing other people's faces. The videos were also of people wearing other people's faces. I didnt stay too long to watch it. But it was certainly interesting.
Next I'll share my photos of William Kendrige's work, who was the featured Artist at the sfmoma while I was there.

these two, above, are by Luster Kaboom.
I liked the technique..it looked like a bit of collage..like maybe for texture. it said mixed media.
the colors and style are great too.
i really liked this one too, i didnt get the artist name though.

He has a show in phoenix, I didnt catch the gallery's name though.
I really liked this painting, I had to find my camera and go back to get pictures of it.
I walked into the gallery while taking a break from standing around by my booth at the Harvest Festival..of which I have no pictures. But it turned out good..I sold an original painting and a doll..and some prints. (my originals dont usually sell during the artwalks, so I was excited!)

I may have shared artwork by Chris before, I love his work..his animals..creatures..his colors..his style.
Today as I was signing one of my paintings I remembered about him.
We have the same initials..except he has a middle name, and signs cmr.
I sign cr.. but sometimes I sign my full name. I thought it was a little funny. :)

I pre-ordered his book..last year. It is said to be ready THIS fall.
Ive received a few newsletters from Murphy Design..about the book..and they have little tiny preview NEW images by him..
the book is gonna have lots of NEW never before seen artwork by Ray.. I am very excited!!
last Christmas I received Jonathan Viner's Murphy book. it was awesome.. That makes me MORE excited.
And Ray Caesar is my very most favorite artist ever!
He was the first real artist I discovered..and whose artwork I immediately fell in love with.
He's amazing..

for example,  this handmade book by Mel Kadel, 20 pages full color front and back, signed and numbered edition of 100. for $20.00  and this navy blue shirt, with the goat logo, printed with silver ink. by Travis Millard. for also $20.00 which, i did order. and its on its way!  and also, a poketo wallet. also $20.00 which would be perfect to go in my pocket, for those times when i dont need to carry a giant bag around! some of the other really cool wallets are now out of print :( but the wallets even come with a matching pin! :) |
