Hello, I hope you've had a Good Weekend! [Jul. 20th, 2009|06:28 pm]

I know i did! about a month ago  I went to Rocky Point with friends, it was really fun! & this past weekend I went with my parents and sister!
I guess they were jealous I got to go and they hadnt been there before :P I dont know. it turned out to be a really fun trip. I love the time i get to spend with my family, now that ive been moved out for a while.
So we went spent the first two days at the beach almost the entire day. I had a shrimp cocktail each day we were there. And we rode on jet skis, which was amazing! Scary and so much fun! I love the beach.

I used my moleskine this time

using a red pencil i found in my bag.


& during the car ride home I drew my dad! black ball point pen.

During the car ride over there, i read an interview with David Choe in Giant Robot Issue #50.
has anyone read it? I found and inspiring tib bit, where he talks about the last illegal thing he had done.
He says he tags every hotel room he stays in. painting a character in the paintings they have, or moving a couch or something, and drawing something behind it. :D

My bird has made a couple other appearances:

Bird on the floor of a shop in Tempe. There's graffiti stuff every where, there! pretty cool.

and it started from here: I think. the drawing of the girl with a bird on her shoulder (available as a sticker!)

since this blog entry already has pictures of me, I'll add another.
I was at Conspire some Sundays ago for a meeting. Chuck B. from Spraygraphic was snapping some pictures. there over here. They are all of Conspire! (spending lots of time there recently, and I have some art there for sale! yay!). I found one with me in it at the end! hehe so, its a must-share-in-blog type of thing. I guess.

I enjoy finding things like this.

Here's things i worked on yesterday [Jun. 10th, 2009|06:36 pm]

I told facebook that I was going to be hardcore. at working yesterday.

this is kind of like a still life painting. because its a real little packaged up baby and bottle eraser that i have.
its not finished.

I also worked on my 'empty inside' painting..thats what i did most of the day, but I dont really have a way of showing that.
I am working on it more today. I'll show you that later.

Then, yesterday night I went to a 'Dr. Sketchy's' anti art school life drawing session.

i think the pose is between 2 and 3 hours long.
I only worked one drawing! which I'm happy about. her proportions might be a bit off..or maybe theye correct. I shouldve taken a photo of the model, but i was too afraid.

I drew this inside my regular sized moleskine sketchbook, so she's kinda small..

I was going to work at night too, after i got back from lifedrawing, but i was too lazy and tired to gather my paints and things, because its all still in my bedroom inside the big easel.

this painting is still untitled.. but I'm thinking up a good one.
I made the background less dark. And I kind of deepened some of the colors, and have been trying to smooth everything out.
its coming along a lot better now.



remember I said I was going to try harder to draw everyday?
I made a drawing last night! well I started one.. She's the one on the left.
and on the right, is a drawing I did for fecalface's free fridayz. it could've been made into a sticker! tons of stickers!
but I only one person voted for me. No, not me. it was my friend Aldo that voted for me. So anyway, I really like this drawing.
It will be in listed in my shop soon..possibly by the end of today.   Just listed in my shop! SOLD

sorry for not saying that i was gonna be gone from the blog a bit. but now i'm here blogging because of it! so it worked out..
I made it to San Fransisco! :D


at the hotel room the night we arrived.
I love it here so much. I love walking everywhere, the people. and the weather right now.. I love it too. what i dont love so much is that I'm not very accustomed to walking so much.. poor feet,shins, and back.

I'm not gonna share much about my trip yet though, I'll do that when I get back.
Its only Tuesday! each day, I am excited that the week has just begun. and once the end of the week comes I think I will have lots of fun things to do! it is perfect.

here is some bar-drawing action! I never really draw people in public places, I get overly self conscious sometimes, but these guys are my friends..so it was cool. it turns out, I love drawing people while they are not aware. I love seeing these in other people's sketchbooks too.

ive been trying to make a drawing a day recently. here's two: 
heheh, they're kindof really different from each other. I havent quite been drawing  e v e r y  day yet, but i'm gonna try to keep it up.
I'll be coloring these and turning them into prints soon, possibly today. ..Definitely will be available at First Friday this month though!

My Main Resolutions are:
To be more confident & To be more productive
And I really am gonna get better at these two things,
I have a whole plan..and know how it will work.. So I'm just excited.

other resolutions are just  to be more healthy and things like that.  :)

I started this sketch for Illustration Friday, but i liked how it was looking and I'm going to use it for a two-piece painting.
I'm going to paint it in oil..and I'm excited to work on it. This is all rough sketching. My painting will be much better. :)

I like new sketchbooks. Here's the first page i filled in mine.. I was laying in bed thinking, i need to draw..but had no ideas or anything. then i wrote about my current worry at the time.
I should draw everyday. I'll make it a goal..like fill up this book within however many pages is in it. so i think 3 months. or by the end of this year.
Also, im moving next week. I havent even begun packing. but once im all moved out, I'm going to have all those new worries of living on your own..without parents providing for you. hurray.
ok, so I'm off to draw or paint now!

[i made this entry for [info]jr_nal  but for anyone who reads my lj from other places, im making an entry here also]



these are my recent things and drawings from my moleskin! I bought one of those moleskins with the thin weird see through pages..i really love it..even though the pages dont seem very sketch friendly. i love how personal it feels... its simple quality feels special.


my cover is blank. so i put this doll i made on it to take the picture.
She is my favorite little doll, and the only one ive kept for myself..
here is my doll archive, if your curious(i make and sell them)

this isnt literally page one, but the first one im sharing at the moment.
the stains are from oil paint.. my book fell on top of my palette. I was pretty sad, kinda, i thought it was ruined, and hid it away, but later realized this just adds to the 'coolness' of the book i love! cus i love sketchbooks..But ive never filled one from cover to cover!
i will this time though. and i will have section on my website tittled 'sketchbook' or 'moleskin' and document every page, i love doing that too...

My mouse has been jittery for the past hour or so (during the few times i used it while i was drawing), i just figured out, it was because it had a cat hair on the lens laser thingy.


I should be doing lots of pencil drawings..
practicing my shadowing and rendering.. To prepare me for making oil paintings.
The quality of the picture sucks, by my drawing is kinda okay.
She looks like one of the girls from my 'two girls' painting.. THIS one.
It feels good to draw.
