in progress, current stage: looking up references for what i want to do with her eyes..
im excited about this painting, im working on it using a slightly different painting technique. using walnut oil as a medium instead of turpenoid, which i just realized leaves me painting in a more watery consistency.
I will do glazes on her later for color. i hope that goes well, i dont know how to do it properly. still excited! |

| My Wall & New Painting Started. |

here's my wall, I thought it was looking kinda cool so i took a picture.
the plaque is gonna be for another new painting. I have a show July 3rd! at Waldoism in downtown phoenix. :)
and here is a closeup of my unicorn stuffed animal painting, in progress.
Im beginning to form a new theme, children and stuffed animals.. along with other subjects.
1 hour or so spend on this so far.

its about feeling so hurt that you try to feel empty of all feelings to feel ok.
*thinking about a title.

I went to mexico, to rocky point (puerto penasco), over the weekend. I'll share some pictures of that later.
Today I'm back to painting. I'm having trouble trying to get this one to look like what I want it to though..

| Here's things i worked on yesterday |

I told facebook that I was going to be hardcore. at working yesterday.
this is kind of like a still life painting. because its a real little packaged up baby and bottle eraser that i have.
its not finished.
I also worked on my 'empty inside' painting..thats what i did most of the day, but I dont really have a way of showing that.
I am working on it more today. I'll show you that later.
Then, yesterday night I went to a 'Dr. Sketchy's' anti art school life drawing session.
i think the pose is between 2 and 3 hours long.
I only worked one drawing! which I'm happy about. her proportions might be a bit off..or maybe theye correct. I shouldve taken a photo of the model, but i was too afraid.

I drew this inside my regular sized moleskine sketchbook, so she's kinda small..
I was going to work at night too, after i got back from lifedrawing, but i was too lazy and tired to gather my paints and things, because its all still in my bedroom inside the big easel.

| What I Did Today |

++++ Painted this much:
I'm still working on defining the face to look like what I want it to. painting in black and white is fun.
I think when i finish this, i will post progress pictures together.. I mostly always take pictures of paintings as i work on it, different stages and stuff. But i dont seem to share them much. Its always interesting to see people's process.
++++ I also drew in my sketchbook. -no picture of that. I would write more about art related stuff i did today.. but im so tired i just cant. after 9 or 10pm i started feeling really hungry and then light headed. then tired. I guess maybe i really didnt eat enough. Dont worry, I usually eat a lot.

does anyone remember when i posted a 'tilt' (Things I love Thursday) entry a while ago, i said I may start a series of entries about helpful information and things I find out about life.. or something similar.
I have been learning so much about life. perhaps I will share some of it.
Especially if someone shares with me a story in the comment area. heh. : )

| My Days |

so most every day recently.. I wake up late, it wouldn't matter, and I dont think I'm a morning person I'd rather sleep in.. But I wish I was a morning person, I like being up early. Recently I just give in to the warm cozyness of my bed in my dark bedroom in the mornings..
So I get up and I feel still sleepy, probably from sleeping too much.
after browsing stuff, checking mail, eating. I sit in my stool in front of my easel.
and I 'work' all day long.
I stop every once in a while, to check my mail or to change what I am listening too. or to get water or snack on something, or look up reference.. or to stare at my painting.. or to do other things i get distracted with.
anyway.. every so often I also get up from my stool.. and move one foot to my right, and sit in my resting chair. Which faces my work space. My view, when I sit there is this:
* I just wanted to randomly share what I do all day long some days. I guess its what I was thinking about. Even though that isn't really my entire day.
I want to move on to something else I was thinking.
that I should begin gessoing canvases before I paint on them.. so that it is not as textured as the image on the left, below.
its not very fun to paint on that.
I started this painting some weeks ago, its almost finished too. I just didn't feel like working on the ^other paitning anymore.
More and more, I try to make better and better paintings, and I'm tryiing to teach myself for 'advanced' oil painting techniques, like glazing.
with that painting though, its becoming hard to work on in that way, because I did not begin it that way.
Concidering going to art school. For many reasons. But one, is just so that I learn how to paint properly! and so that I don't have to think so much of how to paint.. but just be able to paint what I want.
was that a rant? Probably too short, and not angry enough to be a rant. but either way: Rant over. :P

| More progress on painting |

this painting is still untitled.. but I'm thinking up a good one.
I made the background less dark. And I kind of deepened some of the colors, and have been trying to smooth everything out.
its coming along a lot better now.
remember I said I was going to try harder to draw everyday?
I made a drawing last night! well I started one.. She's the one on the left.
and on the right, is a drawing I did for fecalface's free fridayz. it could've been made into a sticker! tons of stickers!
but I only one person voted for me. No, not me. it was my friend Aldo that voted for me. So anyway, I really like this drawing.
It will be in listed in my shop soon..possibly by the end of today. Just listed in my shop! SOLD

hello..trying to share some of the things im working on. I don't think Ive showed much progress on this painting. but i started it a while ago. FInally felt I could come back to it, and Im trying to finish it by today! or very soon. I'm going to give the girl a necklace and fancy charm.. and then it will be close to finished. i think i like this painting much more in person than i do in pictures.  and here's a tiny painting I started one night when i couldn't sleep. I might use it as my next giveaway item...  also: I have been bad at making a drawing every day. So bad. I'm going to try harder though.. I want to make more work...draw and paint more... do so many things. I am not sure what it is that gets in the way all the time. I think ive been lacking some focus. also.. I kinda wish i could seperate my work area more from my 'home'.. a studio [not at home] would be ideal i think! |

"Discomfort With Finding Yourself"
This is one of those paintings where I was going through some things and feelings...and knew that i wanted to capture that idea in a painting..
its gone through lots of phases, where it kinda begins to be headed in the right direction..but then I still cant get the paint to go right..I was starting to hate it and givie up and also getting disappointed with my skills... but then yesterday i finally went to buy new brushes...and so then i painted and have been painting and its going really good!
here is the original sketch i made in my moleskine..or actually a seperate paper then stuck in moleskine and covered something else.
